Patrick Bajari is Chief Economist and Vice President of Amazon Core AI. In this role, he leads a team of approximately 100 software engineers and scientists in machine learning, statistics, computer vision, operations research, and econometrics. Since joining Amazon in 2010, his team has built systems for pricing, supply chain, operations, automated marketing, search, and other systems at Amazon.
Pat is an alum of the University of Minnesota, receiving his B.S in Economics and Math (1992) and his PhD in Economics (1997), as well as a former professor in the Economics Department. In addition, he was also a faculty member in the Economics Departments at Harvard, Stanford, and Duke prior to joining Amazon. Pat He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a member of the Federal Economic Statistics Advisory Committee, was an elected Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Business Economists.. He also currently serves as Professor of Economics at the University of Washington.
